Question barking and biting puppy

Hello, I have a doubt: my dog is nearly 3 months, a maltese male. He´s clearly dominant, and i´m reading how to become the alpha dog. There you talk about adolescent puppies, and I wonder if the tips fit to little puppies too. Me and my husband are doctors, and we work out all day. 2 times a week the puppy stays with the housemaid, but the three other weekdays he spends morning and afternoon alone. He cries early in the morning and barks by 6:00, and does not stop like he uses to do when he cries other times in the day. He only stops when we get there (we go after 30 minutes of barking because of neighbors complaint). In the morning, especially, he runs a lot, barks, wants to bite and does not obey us. Can you help us? Thanks.

There's something you're missing. He is a 3 months old puppy, that is left all day long alone. He has nothing to do rather than sleeping most of the time, so he wakes early in the morning. He runs a lot because he is filled with energy he doesn't release during the day, he bites and getting out of control since he's so excited of seeing you, he just wants you to play with him, he needs to burn some energy. I truly understand him.

That's not healthy. Not for him, and not for your relationship.
A puppy requires extra attention and an organized routine. This way you can direct him to grow to an happy and a calm dog.

I agree with Idan Kashi's comments however I understand that some people lead very busy lives and still want the companionship of a pet. I would suggest that both you and your husband put aside separate times during the day to play and walk your puppy, this way he gets maximal interaction with you both. I would also suggest finding a dog walker, or a friend to come and socialise with your puppy during the day, this way he won't get bored!

Good luck,

Becks

Wink thanks!!!

thank you...
I´m happy you understand our point...
the problem was our dog was still too young to leave the house, for he only had the thir vaccine dose yesterday and will be authorizedto leave the house only next week...we thought about hiring a dogwalker, but only now it´ll work for us.
we´re alternating times to play with him and he´s already calmer and seems happier...i´m sure it´ll work.
