Unhappy extreme aggression towards other dogs

I bought a dogo/boerboel and at about 7 to 8 months she started to act aggresively towards other dogs. I had socialized her by taking her to the dog park and taking her around kids etc,. I walk her and my 2 other dogs twice a day two miles a walk and they sleep in the house when we are home.We do all of the alpha stuff with her and make her mind the problem starts if she see's another dog she goes psycho. I now make detours when I walk her to avoid confrontations. I have a prong collar and a halti (leads her like a horse) on her when we walk. I have had some success making her heel, stop and I use the command turn when I sense trouble. I have also lifted her by the collar to get some control and I stare into her eyes and yell no! Its difficult when I have the other two dogs and neither of them is dog aggressive. She seems to lash out at the other dogs because she can't get her way. I would like to get her socialized with other dogs but I think the next step will have to be with a muzzle. I also am getting worried that if we want to go on vacation my usual kennel wont take her Any ideas?

I think that possibly a muzzle while training would be a good idea, just in case she redirects the aggression at you as she already does with your other dogs. I think also you need to spend some one-on-one time training her so that you can really focus on her, its hard to do this with other dogs to worry about at the same time. As for the kennels, I recommend just calling around and explaining your situation, if they are a good kennels they will have facilities for aggressive dogs and will not judge you.
Take her for walks with a muzzle and try all those methods you were talking about before. I would also suggest taking some obedience classes, they're a great chance to socialise your dog and bond with her and reinforce training methods.

Let me know how you go,

Becks

Default dog against dog aggression

We adopted 2 dogs from the pound last Nov. Sasha is a appx 3 yr old german sheppherd. Riley is a sheppherd/Chow mix appx 1 to 2 yr old. So far they have been good with each other. But the past couple of days Sasha has shown real aggressive behavior towards Riley. For no reason at all she will get up, bark once and attack Riley! If Riley can get to the kennel that's where he goes to get away from her. Today they got into a real fight outside! They are both fixed but I was wondering if female dogs still go thru "being in heat" or could her hormones be out of whack? This behavior has just appeared and we are totally at a loss as to why she has started this.
