Default aggression

I have a wheaten terrier poodle mix 7months.Awesome dog except he gets possesive with certain items. Like his rawhide bone or things he picks up thats new. He's in class and does well.Very mellow otherwise.Tried different tactics, but he doesn't backdown. So I force the issue. How do I get him to submit? Tim

Hi Tim,

I have posted my response to a similar case as yours in the past so please visit the following link if you are interested. I am basically suggesting not to give those bones/rawhides until your dog masters "Leave it" and "Drop it". By teaching your dog these commands using treats, not only your dog will learn the commands but also he will realize that YOU are the leader and start paying more attention to your commands. Here it is:

Agression - Possesive Issues

Let me know if you have more questions.
