Default playin with poop :O

hey all.

just wondering if anyone has any ways to make my dog stop playin with his poo. When he's left alone, he ignores his toys we leave for him and instead plays with his droppings. We don't think he eats them, but we're not sure wat he does with them....

When we come back home, they are strewn around the garden. We always pick up anything before leaving in the morning, and dont know how to make him stop. Its really disgusting, and must be very unhygenic. any ideas??

They are strewn around the garden and his paws stink? Or there are pawprints in the poop? Or does he just not poop standing still?

Sorry for the questions, but you DID say you didn't know what he does with them. . .

I'm just wondering if it is possible he doesn't do anything with them. I've seen dogs poop all over the yard as the walk while pooping.

we've never smelt his paws so i dunno bout that one, but on walks he always stops to do all his business in one place. also they are often near his kennel which is on the paved stones, and in the garden he generally only ever poos on the grass.

So, Susan,

are you guessing he plays with his poop? It doesn't sound as if you have seen him touch it nor seen any paw prints in it, just poop scattered over the yard. OTOH, if he isn't playing with his toys, one does wonder what he is doing all day. How long is he usually left alone? And how old is he?

Sorry, Susan,

I've been away for a while.

I guess my biggest problem is this: you don't think he is eating the poop and he has other toys to play with. So I am as confused as you are.
