Hi tonder,

Does he growl any other time, or does he growl only when you try to pull him out from where he is hiding?

If it's just when there are thunders I would not even bother forcing him to come out. He is scared of thunders so leave him where he feels safe.

If he growls other times, such as when he's got a toy and doesn't let you take it, or when he is eating and doesn't let you put your hand in his bowl, etc., then his growling needs to be fixed.
