Angry Crazy Dog in the Car

Hopefully someone can help here. I normally take my dog to work and in doing so obviously in the truck (SUV) to get there. He starts off good but immediately when we encounter side traffic, motorcycles or loud vehicles, or pedestrians walking on side streets he goes crazy trying to get at them through the windows. How can I get him under control while driving? Once the objects are out of view he calms back down and returns to my shoulder. He is a two year old purebred cocker spaniel.

Sher,

Crate him. He is a danger to you and to himself when he goes wild. In an accident, he is going to go flying around the vehicle.
