Hi again! So I'm working with Lucy on the nipping/biting and are having some success in that everytime she bites, I ignore her and then try again. Will keep doing it until she gets it
She's also responding well to the "sit" command and I use this a lot. She will wait for her food, in front of an open door and for her toys. I've only had her for 2 weeks, so it's still all very new to the both of us.
I would like to get some advice with regard to her sleeping place. I read that a dog should sleep in the same room as you as this will make her feel part of and close to the pack. I have no prolem in her sleeping with me in the room, but at the moment she is still eating everything around her. I live in a small 3 bedroom apartment and my bedroom is about 5 meters away from the dining area where she's sleeping now. I got her a nice big cage ( 1m x 1m) and put a bed inside with some blankets, a pillow and a few toys. She's used to it I guess as she'll go and mess around there or take a nap whenever she wants. I put her to bed around 11:00 pm and at the moment she still wakes up to relief herself around 2 and 4 am. I don't always hear her and then she'll go in the little newspaper basket in front of her bed. I also leave a little night light on in the living room and my bedroom door is open although she can't see me. Most nights after I've taken her out she'll cry/bark when put back in the cage. I ignore her and she'll go back to sleep. I do feel terrible about her being alone there, so I would like to know if it's OK to keep her there and if she'll be able to join me in the bedroom once she's a little older and better housetrained.
