Unhappy small dog, big attitude

Hi,
I have 2 dogs, a boder collie/lab mix, 4 1/2 yrs old and spayed. Last summer I adopted a mini daschund who just turned a year old in the spring. He was neutered at 6 months old. During the last 3-4 months he is very aggressive when it comes to strangers coming to our house or even into the yard. Everytime there's a knock at the door he goes crazy. My yard is fenced in but I have to tie him up anyway just in case he manages to find a place to escape(which he's already done) because I know he will attack any other person and/or pet walking on the street. I am afraid someday he will seriously hurt someone. I have 3 kids and he's already snapped at them to express his annoyance, he's a lot better about it now and I'm the only one he won't snap at, he loves me very much and follows me everywhere and always has to be near me or sitting with me. What can I do?

Hi there josie, thank you for your post.

I apologize for the very late reply, I am a new staff member and I am endeavoring to catch up with unanswered posts all so that no one is left stranded.

I was wondering if you could please give me an update on your dachshund. Is there still a problem? If so have they made any progress or has her behavior changed in any way? We apologize again for the delay, please don't hesitate to ask any questions you may have about your dogs behavior, I will ensure they are answered promptly.
