two bulldogs

I am new to the site and have plenty of questions, but for now will try to contain myself. I have two english bulldogs. One is a 17 month old female and the other is a 5 month old female. It was alittle rocky when we first brought home the puppy. The adult was very jealous. (still is to a lesser extent) Now that we have gotten past that point, they get very rough playing with each other. There seems to be some dissagreement on whether you should let your dogs play rough with each other. I only let them play that way when I am there supervising them. It seems that if I let them play it out, they tire themselves out and get along better after. Am not a dog expert though and bulldogs are a special case, I am sure. They are hard headed to say the least. Any input would be appreciated.

Hey there,

This is a very common question from people with multi-dog houses. And the best answer is to judge it for yourself. Dogs playing can sound very rough and intense, but most of the time its just play. You know your own dogs better than any of us do - and will be able to judge better what is too much as far as your bulldogs playing.

My flatmate and I, when we had two dogs in the house, let our pups get into it up until sustained growling and loud barks. Then we called "enough" and put a stop to it. You should decide your limit and call it at that.

If your two are playing together well otherwise, I wouldn't worry too much about one beating the other up - they should sort themselves out pretty well as far as adjusting to each other.
