Just wanted to introduce myself .... my name is Shelly and I'm from central Wisconsin USA. I just got a new puppy 4 weeks ago when she was 11 weeks old, her name is Kera and she is a black/brown miniature dachshund/coonhound walker mix. She looks like the her daddy the mini dachshund other than she has a small white patch on her throat and is a little taller I'm guessing because of the height of her mommy. I was told her adult weight will be anywhere from 15 to 45 pounds. Has anyone ever seen a 45 pound dachshund dog before? I sure have not, so it will be interesting to see! She is a real sweetheart except for her persistence of being the one in charge I am working on this problem, slowly but surely! I have owned 2 adults dogs in the past, but didn't get them as a puppy. I never had problems with dominant behavior with either of them, so this is all new to me. I hope to learn a few new things from all of you and maybe teach a thing or two along the way as well.
